But Bar is a small music bar on Husova, at the foot of the Špilberk hill and a few minutes from the middle of town. It describes itself as a bar for gay and straight guests, and on most nights the room is genuinely mixed.

Drinks are the business here. There is a long cocktail list, Spanish wines, and simple cold cuts and Spanish tapas platters if you want something alongside. A video wall runs behind the bar and the music is the other half of the point.

Of Brno's queer bars this is the easiest for visitors who do not speak Czech, and the staff speak English. It is a bar rather than a club, so it works better for a conversation than for dancing.
