Sauna Centar is the only gay sauna in Croatia. It sits on Prilaz Gjure Deželića, a few streets west of the Austro-Hungarian core of Zagreb, and it took over from Sauna Mobilus at a new address.
The Finnish sauna runs in three settings, a mild laconium around 40 degrees, a sanarium in the mid fifties, and full Finnish heat around 75 to 80. Beyond that there are showers, relaxation cabins lit for colour therapy, a lounge, a cruising area and a self-service drinks station. It is for men and for adults, with themed days as the exception.
The house rules are set out on the website and they are taken seriously. Shower before and after. Sit on a towel, never on bare wood. No swimwear, no phones, no photography anywhere inside. Talk in the lounge rather than in the sauna room.
