Hotpot is the main gay bar and club in Zagreb, on Petrinjska in the city centre, a few minutes on foot from the main railway station. The entrance is easy to walk past, a plain door in a plain building, with the room itself downstairs.

The basement holds a dance floor of about 120 square metres, screens and a DJ booth. Music runs to pop, house, Latino and Croatian hits. The crowd is mostly gay men, with a wider queer mix on the busy nights. Tables are reserved by direct message on Instagram.

For years this has been the only dedicated queer venue in the middle of Zagreb, which is why every guide to the city sends people here. Hotpot has been the official club of the Queer Zagreb festival and throws its own party around the Pride march.
