Pogled Community Centre is the LGBTI+ space in Plovdiv, on the third floor of a building on Отец Паисий in the Kapana quarter. It is run by Pogled Foundation, set up at the start of 2024, which calls itself the LGBTI+ foundation of Plovdiv.
The centre is open to the whole LGBTI+ community and to anyone working on human rights, equality and inclusion. The programme mixes the social and the educational. It screens short films with subtitles and then opens the floor for discussion on identity and acceptance. It runs community evenings built around meeting people, group hikes into the hills outside the city, workshops, and campaign work against violence and discrimination. Most of it is free, and places are limited, so signing up beforehand is usually needed.
Other Bulgarian organisations use the room as well. A platform for parents of LGBTI+ children has run here, and peer-support meetings for the community are held in the city. The foundation is also behind the queer party nights Plovdiv would not otherwise have, which take place at a club further down the same street.
Plovdiv is Bulgaria's second city and has no gay bar of its own. This is the one fixed queer address in it.
