Le Baroque is a bear bar in the middle of the Brussels gay quarter, a few minutes from the Grand Place. The bar calls what it does the bear spirit, and describes it as an attitude rather than a body type, which sets the tone for who feels welcome. Bears, their friends and admirers make up most of the room.
Inside is small, with painted ceilings and walls, so most people drink standing and the terrace takes the overflow. There are DJs at the weekend. The crowd runs wide in age and the staff are the reason a lot of people come back.
