Castro is a small bar at the quieter end of the Brussels gay street, with a short terrace on the pavement. Beer is the main business, Belgian and Irish, and it is cheap for the city centre.
The room is plain and nobody is in a hurry, which makes it a contrast to the busier bars a few doors up. Bowls of condoms sit on the counter. Dogs are welcome. It draws wolves, otters and a generally laid-back local crowd.
