The Dark Eagle is Salzburg's cruising bar, on Paracelsusstrasse in the Andraeviertel. It works as two separate things on two floors. The ground floor is an ordinary bar, open to anyone, with no entry fee and no dress code. The basement is a men-only cruising area with several rooms and a darkroom.
The house line is that nobody has to explain themselves. You can stand at the bar all evening and talk, or go downstairs, and neither is remarked on. The bar draws the local leather and fetish crowd and runs a calendar of fetish nights.
The venue describes itself as the only one of its kind between Vienna and Munich. Entry to the basement is charged separately from the bar.
