Mexxx is a gay bar and small disco in the Andraeviertel, at the end of Linzergasse where it turns into Schallmooser Hauptstrasse. It is one of three gay venues within a few minutes' walk of each other in this part of Salzburg, together with the HOSI Bar and the Dark Eagle.
The layout is compact: a bar, a small dance floor and a pole. The music is pop and chart material, and the night runs late. The crowd mixes Salzburg regulars, people working in the city's theatre and festival scene, and visitors who found the place through the guides.
Themed parties run through the year with proper decoration, Fasching among them, each one announced on the bar's own website. Mexxx calls itself the hottest gay bar in town.
