Ohne Zwang is a cruising bar in Freindorf, a district of Ansfelden, about twenty-five minutes from Linz main station by public transport. It calls itself more than just a bar, and the layout bears that out: a day bar, café and lounge at the front, private lounges with screens behind, and showers with towels available at the till.
Admission is eighteen and over. The venue is open to all genders and orientations rather than to men only, and it says so on its own pages. The house rule it puts first is consent, in the plain form that no always means no. The rooms are hung with art objects and the atmosphere it aims for is relaxed rather than club-loud.
There is a car park on the site with video-monitored access, which is how most people arrive. The club had to fight a long public argument with neighbours and the district authorities before it was allowed to open in 2018, and it has been running since.
